2013 Isabel Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine is named after Chuck Hovey's grandmother, Isabel Hovey, a woman of bold spirit growing up during the 1920s, in Los Angeles. This is the second vintage of Isabel Cabernet Sauvignon that comes from the Rasmussen Vineyard located just outside of Angels Camp on a north facing slope. The wine was gently racked to new signature “Icone” American Oak barrels from Seguin Moreau cooperage and aged for 26 months.  The wine has intense flavors of black current, dark chocolate and rich blackberry combined with soft tannins and sweet oak notes. Alcohol 14.5%
