2019 Zinfandel
In Stock
The 2019 Zinfandel follows in the footsteps of our always-popular previous vintages. The luscious wine is fruity without being sweet making it a Wine Club member favorite. A hint of berries combined with a little spice and vanilla round out the palette of the 2019 vintage. Aged in American and French Oak barrels for 18 months, this wine is lovely now and will continue to reward those who have the patience to lay it down for a year or two.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The stunning garnet color of this wine sets the tone for the overall experience. Take a deep breath and notice a hint of blackberry preserves. Be prepared as our fruit-forward Zinfandel explodes with candied fruitiness which is followed by something lightly spicy, like cinnamon and white pepper. You might notice a whiff of toasty vanilla thanks to our barreling. The moderate tannins and lower acidity give this wine a smooth and jammy mouthfeel which we think is a very good thing.
Vineyard Notes
The fruit for this vintage comes to us from both the Rorick Vineyards in Calaveras county and the Walker Vineyards in El Dorado county. The combination of fruit allowed us to bring out the best traits in this varietal - big bold flavors with bright fruity elements.
Winemaker Notes
We age our Zinfandel in a combination of American and French Oak barrels for 18 months giving it a lovely toasty finish. Although lighter in color than a Cabernet Sauvignon, its moderate tannins and slightly higher acidity give it a bolder feel.
Food Pairing Notes
Think Asian BBQ, or sweet-savory dishes like Thai curry, Moroccan lamb and couscous, or even Turkish kabobs. These flavors bring out the cinnamonny nature of the fruit and will not disappoint.
